Introduction:
This Patek Philippe 2425R "Skater" model watch measures 36.7 x 32.3 mm and is squarish rectangular shape with wide wings on sides. The watch is fitted with a 10-200 caliber 18-jewel movement, #951439 and case #650214. Further, the watch is accompanied with its original style Patek alligator strap, original spring bars (pins) and 18K rose gold buckle. The dial has applied raised gold numerals on a silver white dial.

The watch was made in 1947 and sold in 1948, confirmed with an extract certificate from the archives. Additionally, the watch comes with a one year movement guarantee.
Essay: 2425: Was launched in 1948 and produced only for one year in an extremely small quantities. The production was made in yellow gold and a very few in rose (pink) gold. The watch reflects the after war style design of mixing geometrical and voluptuous shapes. This is considered as an oversized watch measuring 32 x 37 mm. It was fitted with a round caliber 10”200, the best 10”’ caliber of its time. The two piece snap back case was made by Jean Sogno, master case maker Geneva. The case measures 8.7mm thick. Today only 10 yellow gold watches, and 5 rose gold are identified back into the market. One could believe that production shows a total of 60 pieces at about 5 a month which shows a single year of production. The dials were made by Stern Freres.
