Introduction:
Patek Philippe 2482J Jumbo 35 mm Calatrava made in 1951, with a 27 SC Caliber 18-jewel movement # 701249, 18 Karat yellow gold case # 667447. The watch has distinguishing fancy spider style lugs which makes it easy to recognize. The watch is fitted with a two-tone matte silver dial with a painted black minute track and raised gold markers blue steel sweep second hand. The watch further is accompanied with a saddle leather strap. The watch is accompanied with an extract from the archives confirming its date of manufacture and further sale.
Essay: Introduced in 1950 and in production for one decade, reference 2482 has similar "spider" lugs to time only reference 1578 and chronograph reference 1579. One of the largest watches (35 mm) ever made by Patek Philippe, it is also one of the first references bearing power-house caliber 27 SC, which, at the time, was new on the market. Due to the 3-body, Bombay design case with a small bezel the watch and dial looks much larger than it is.
Condition: This example is a very well preserved. original crown, a well re-printed dial, strong hallmarks. The watch has just been serviced and keeps excellent time keeping.
